Ray Barnett, surrounded by members of The African Children’s Choir who refer to him as “Daddy Ray’.

Ray Barnett is the founder of Friends In The West and The African Children’s Choir. In his lifetime, he has been involved in bringing humanitarian aid to areas of the world that were experiencing famine, floods, wars, earthquakes and other disasters. And it’s not the first time he has seen communities stricken down with disease. But he has never witnessed anything that has had such a far-reaching affect on our world as this current Coronavirus pandemic.

He likens it to the plagues of biblical proportions. As he has been praying about it and pondering the situation over the past few days, a scripture verse keeps coming to his mind from 2 Chronicles 7 :14. It says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Ray believes that that verse of scripture applies directly to where we are in the world today. It’s God speaking directly to believers, calling them out of their apathy and lukewarmness; calling them to repent and to humbly call on Him and be willing to play their part in being His answer and His healing to the condition of our world.

Please take a moment to meditate on the verse below and then click below image to listen to Ray’s message which is just over a minute in length.
